reversible data hiding based on histogram modification and prediction
In this paper, a novel reversible data embedding based on histogram modification and prediction is presented. Since the data hiding scheme is reversible, the original image can be completely recovered after the secret message has been extracted from the stego-image. The predictive value is computed by using various predictors. The difference image is firstly calculated between a pixel and its predictive value, and the produce difference image will be nearly M*N pixels, while the cover image is MxN pixels. Then the secret data is embedded in the cover image by modified the histogram of the difference image. The experimental results show that the proposed method obtains high embedding capacity, and produces small bit length of keys. The multilevel embedding is also used in the scheme, and achieved a very high capacity and low distortion.
