Design of a CAB for the Field-Programmable Analog Array
This paper presents a flexible CAB (configurable analog blocks) topology for field programmable analog arrays (FPAA). A fully differential difference amplifier (DDA) was used as the core circuit block in the CAB. The CAB is mainly composed of DDA, several programmable capacitor arrays (PCAs), and programmable resistor arrays (PRAs). The DDAbased circuits often provide high input impedance and simple external circuitry, and therefore are competitive to the opamp-based circuits. The proposed DDAbased CAB has been designed in a 0.35um CMOS+EEPROM process. Simulation results show that the presented CAB is powerful enough to implement the fundamental and certain complex analog functions, for instance, integrator, filters, subtracter etc.
