Intelligent Manufacturing system based on machining features and its application
Intelligent manufacturing is an orientation in the future manufacturing. In order to achieve this goal, the integration of CAD/CAM systems is the key. However, feature technology, which is regarded as a medium of information transmission in the integration of CAD/CAM systems, is expected the critical technology between the design and manufacturing environment. To simplify the manufacturing process and improve its efficiency, an intelligent manufacturing system based on machining features is presented in this paper. The key technologies related to the intelligent manufacturing, including feature recognition, machining operations based on machining features, knowledge-based machining database, are discussed respectively. The detailed implementation of the intelligent manufacturing system is also used to illustrate the superiority of the intelligent manufacturing than the commonly-used one.
