Virtual Reality System for Spine Sugery with Haptic Device
Bone drilling is a fundamental skill for orthopedic surgeons, especially for spinal orthopedics. In this paper, a framework is presented for the simulation of spinal bone drilling process and a prototype simulation system for training of skull-bone drilling is introduced. In the simulation process, a user can drill a virtual spinal bone with Falcon feedback device with felling of force and vision of the virtual hole in order to improve the education effects of the residents and practical abilities.
