Design and Research of Detecting Equipment of the Bogie Wheelset Alignment Parameters for Railway Vehicles

Tn view of weak points of low precision, single test items, and inability in measuring wheelset diagonal difference, detecting equipment of bogie wheelset alignment parameters for railway vehicle could not meet the technique demands of highspeed trains. Four virtual prototypes of wheelset alignment parameters detecting equipment are described, which can measure wheelbase difference and diagonal difference with the same equipment. The methods of wheel center direct measurement and indirect measurement are used. As the main measuring instruments, grating encoder and laser distance meter can detect more precisely. The Device of Wheel Center Positioning Fixture Integrated with Grating Encoder complies with the request of bogie manufacturer after comparison of four designed equipment prototypes, because of satisfied precision and reasonable price. Besides, measurement and control system and database of detecting equipment of bogie wheelset alignment parameters are designed. The research provides a theoretical basis for the bogie design and structure improvement.
