Simulation of Snow Based on Particle System
The simulation of falling and accumulating snow can greatly improve the reality of 3D scene. Because the anomalistic and random of the snow, its simulation is more difficult. The application of partical system in the simulation of snow is presented in this paper. The 3D scene is modeled using Autodesk Maya, which is used for pre-generating the information of accumulating snow. The simulation of falling snow is based on OpenCL, and a new method is used to simulate the accumulating snow base upon the Ambient Occlusion technique. Experimental results show that our method makes the visual effects more realistic.
