A Hybrid Approach Based on Genetic Algorithms and Iterative Fourier Techniques for the Synthesis of Large Planar Thinned Arrays
A hybrid approach for the synthesis of large planar thinned antenna arrays is presented. The proposed solution exploits and combines the most attractive features of a binary genetic algorithm (GA) and those of a newly developed iterative Fourier technique (IFT). Numerical experiments show improvements of the proposed solution with respect to previous results. It can significantly reduce computational complexity comparing with conventional GAs, also avoids the defect of IFTs that it is easy to be trapped into local minima.
