Design and Implementation of Automatic Control System of Oxygen-Enriched Air & Top-Blown Copper Smelting Furnace Based on DCS
Top-blown furnace is known to be effectively adopted in copper smelting. This paper elaborates automatic control strategies of oxygenenriched air & top-blown smelting system based on the real project named KUNPENG COPPER SMELTER in China. We design and implement a control system by using several novel schemes, such as batch algorithm, secondary batch algorithm, feed rate algorithm, and propose a method of automatic process control of air, oxygen and oil in smelting mode, including requirement calculation, ratio control, selective control and multi-mode output control. Meanwhile, the configuration of the smelting control system based on Emerson DeltaV is introduced. The result reported is remarkable that the reaction is complete and the high temperature is stable and maintainable.
