Business Process Evolution: A Geneticbased Approach

To survive and grow in todaysdynamic and competitive business environments, organizations are subject to constant change and adaptation. Business process models, once taken months or even years to design, eventually lose their authenticity if not revised periodically. In this paper a semi-automatic approach to enable business process evolution byvalidatingthe out of date business process models is proposed. This methodconstructs a high level prototype model from stakeholders group stories and then validates the prototype against a set of expert provided constraints, using a Genetic Algorithm. A support tool is also developed which demonstrates the effectiveness of the approach in terms of efficiency and accuracy.
