Vector Image Generation For Volumetric 3D Display Based on Rotating Flat Screen and Multi-projector
Display data for volumetric 3D display based on rotating flat screen are a series of 2D image slices. This paper proposed a method to generate a self-designed vector format image slices as display data. The new vector format recorded complete information needed to draw the image slice. After introduced the rotating flat screen and multiprojectors based volumetric 3D displays basic structure and imaging principle, the paper illustrated the approach of obtaining vector images. The data structure design of the new vector format was given firstly. It mainly contained information block of parameters of four transformation matrices, cutting parameters, and 3D models. The main flow of generating vector image was described secondly. Finally, software using above method was developed to verify the effectiveness of proposed method. An application instance of baby model shows that vector image can be generated and has better quality than bitmap image with this method in the aspect of file size, time-to-generate, and so an.
