Construction Claims Based on Variation Orders

摘要：

Claims for additional costs and time extensions result form a variety of evens occurring during the course of construction. While Variation orders are one of the main causes of claims between owners and contractors, and variation orders has become an everyday occurrence in construction. The paper studies the construction claim of variation and the impact for the construction project, which identifies definition of variation and discusses the causes of variation. It further approaches characteristics of the impact and cumulative impact of variation order for construction project, which estimates the increasing cost due to the variation orders, and it presents the process of variation order finally.
