An Approach for Estimation of Multiattribute Utility Function of Housing

Compare with other ordinary products housing is more complicated because it contains multiattribute functions. When designing a suite of residence it is useful to know how much customers value various attributes of it, which is termed as multiattribute utility of housing. However, this is often ignored in academe and practice in China. This paper introduces a new approach for estimation of multiattribute utility of housing based on multiattribute utility theory and special characters of housing. With this procedure, the estimation model for the utility is modeled as a linear programming. Compare with traditional method the procedure presented in this paper has these merits: the basic data is easy to get and the model needs less subjective expertise thus is easy to put into practice.
