Discussion of the Carton Structure Design of Single Paper Board Forming without Glue
The relationship between the carton structure and its buffer liner is an important problem in carton structure design. Under the idea of the sustainable development strategy and green packaging design, it became a hot point in the design of carton structure that how to reduce harmfulness of the packaging material to the utmost, improve the efficiency of the packaging design, and enhance the utilization ratio of paper materials. The structure design of single paper board forming without glue is a new idea in resolving this problem. The structure without glue can efficiently simplify the forming process of the cartons, and using only a single paper board for both inner and outer structures can make maximum in saving material and simplifying the buildup procedure. This idea has rather good market prospects in the development of carton packaging, while it has not drawn enough attention of the researchers. In this paper, we make investigate of carton structure design of single paper board forming without glue. First, we start the study with the existing structures of product packaging in the market, like hard disk(HD) in a box, domestic DVD player. A comparative study about the application of buffer and the mode of structure forming is conducted between single paperboard forming without glue and traditional approaches of structure design. Then, we propose application examples of the design of single paper board forming without glue according to the comparison to some typical related products packaging. Finally, comparing between the buffer cartons made from single paper board forming and traditional combined cartons, we discuss from several points such as costing, forming procedure, and manufacturing process. The research results illustrate the feasibility of this work in the application of carton packaging and its purport in green design.
