Analysis of Yunnan Ethnic Minorities Settlements from the Perspective of the Philosophy of Kisho Kurokawa
Symbiosis philosophy, a philosophical way of thinking, helps us have a better understanding of the relationship between people and different settlements and groups including nature, nation, society and so on. It also offers us a new way to establish a stable and harmonious living way. Kisho Kurokawa, a Japanese famous architect, introduces symbiosis philosophy into city lay-out and architectural design and combine it with his architectural idea to form the core of his theory of architectural philosophy. Based on the the understanding of symbiosis philosophy of Kisho Kurokawas, we find that Yunnan minority nationality’s settlement structure embodies the symbiosis philosophy in many aspects.
