Influence of Sichuan Western Region Folk Furniture on Modern Furniture Design
The application of distinctive local furniture elements used in modern furniture design is now receiving more and more concern. This article explores theoretical and practical issues in Sichuan western region folk furniture and modern furniture design from the angle of influence, amalgamation, and application. This article studies concept and definition of Sichuan western region folk furniture through analysis of field survey and literature collection, and summarizes the principles of modern furniture design. This article studies the influences that Sichuan western region folk furniture acts on modern furniture design, concludes the methods of modern furniture design based on the research of Sichuan western region folk furniture, exemplifies and designs several modern furniture products by the methods. This study will provide certain reference for the modern furniture design from the perspective of inheritance of regional folk furniture.
