An Approach Combining Patent-around and TRIZ for Innovative Product Design
This study proposes a product design process combining patent-around and TRIZ. It is mainly composed of the following steps: firstly, searching related patents and simplifying patents documents to form new patent abstract. Then comparing those patents under the same technical requirements and getting target patent to design around. Finally, using theory of TRIZ to analysis the technical solution involved in the patent and helping designers to accomplish patent-around design. This process effectively reduces the work of patent analyses during product designing. In the end of this study, this process is successfully tested and verified by a design case of slideway of child car seat.
