On the Understanding and Representation of Space in Chinese and Western Landscape Paintings
How to appreciate the concept of space in both Chinese and Western landscape paintings well demonstrates the recognition of eastern and western painting systems respectively. Therefore, this article, drawing upon visual features of spatial pattern, conducts a comparative study on different understandings and representations of space in the two systems. And the underlying reasons for differences in the concept of spatial pattern and specific art processing methods will be analyzed to provide a new perspective for current Chinese landscape paintings in terms of form innovation. Hence, the connotation of eastern and western art will be further understood.
