Automatic Assessment of the Dimensional Universality of Shoe-last
The paper presents a method for the automatic calculation and universality assessment of the dimensions of the designed shoe last based on the analysis of Chinese Last Systems and foot pattern distribution. The standard shoe last date were stored in a four-level hierarch structure, and the query of the standard shoe last date was signed accordingly. The deviation between the data of designed shoe last and that of standard was calculated automatically, and was combined with feet pattern of the object group to form the universality assessment of the designed shoe last. MATLAB was used to complete the above process and to create the user interface. An example was presented at the end of this paper, which verifies that the research is effective and efficient. The new method broadens the application of the CAD technology in the shoe last design, and is significant in promoting the shoe last design to be more fitting and comfortable, and in deciding the manufacturing quantity to meet the market demand better.
