Analysis ofMoulded Coal Porosity Base on Surface Characteristics
Physical and mechanical properties of coal rock mass is one of the key objects in mining engineering researches, while in the lab the raw coal is difficult to process, therefore, the moulded coal is adopted. Since moulded coal is mainly used to study such experiments as coal mechanical properties, permeability, adsorption, etc., then the study of its porosity plays a crucial role in understanding the results of these experiments. Similar to raw coal in structure, moulded coal is taken to have the dual pore structure of pore-fracture, and the size and the development characteristics of fracture are regarded as the major factors that influence the permeability of moulded coal, hi order to collect the information of porosity size and its distribution, the high definition pictures of the surface pore of moulded coal are taken, and the polarization analysis software is applied to set the same threshold. Moulded coal particles of three different sizes are adopted in seepage test, and the results show that the coarser the coal particles are, the higher the porosity is; meanwhile, the gas permeability test corroborates as well that the coarser the particles are, the faster the gas permeates through the moulded coal, that is, the higher the porosity is.
