A Compact Printed UWB Antenna with Band Notched Function

In this paper, a kind of ultra wideband (UWB) antenna which can perform notched band and multi-resonance was designed by using printed loop monopole antenna. The antenna proposed in this paper occupied a bandwidth covering 3GHz-13.05GHz for voltage standing-wave ratio (VSWR) less than 2. A notched band of 4.9GHz-6.1GHz was achieved by introducing a special shaped stub which can control the central frequency and bandwidth of notched band easily. Moreover, considered its good Omni directional radiation patterns, the proposed antenna can adapt to UWB applications well.
