A New Method for Parallel Processing of Real-time Range Compression
Based on subbanding processing and amplitude-phase compensation, a novel fast and parallel method to realize big-sample-size range-compression (RC) in real-time SAR/ISAR systems is introduced. It is assumed that pulse compression will be performed in the subband domain. An innovative algorithm is presented that simplifies the design complexity of all FIR filterbanks used in the subbanding processing including the analysis filterbanks (used to decompose return signals into narrowband components), the synthesis filterbanks (used when combining subband components after processing), and the pulse compression generating filterbanks (used to generate subband pulse compression filters from a wideband pulse compression filter), and reduces filter orders, while guaranteeing RC performance. Moreover, it compensates the amplitude-phase errors caused by signal-generating and echo-sampling modules.
