Targets Identification Method Based on Electromagnetic Scattering Analysis

Target electromagnetic environment is becoming increasingly complex, which calls for the more advanced target identification technology. By the way of radar network, target information could be received in all directions. However, under the influence of some uncertain factors such as target background environment and electromagnetic waves space propagation attenuation, the information received by each radar contains a great deal of uncertainty. As one of the important uncertainty reasoning methods, D-S evidence theory could solve the uncertainty problem caused by unknown. It is a very important step of D-S evidence to construct basic probability assignment. The paper has analyzed the electromagnetic scattering characteristic of targets in discernment frame efficiently and accurately by multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA). Based on the analysis result and information received by radar, the basic probability assignment has been constructed by template matching method, and then the evidences have been combined by D-S evidence theory, by which target identification result could be obtained. In this paper, the numerical example has demonstrated that it is accurate and efficient to identify the target by this way.
