VISUALIZATION OF DATA CENTERS AND OPTIMIZATION OF RESOURCE ALLOCATION IN IT, BY EXTRA INNOVATIVE ALGORITHMS

Increasing demand for storage and computation has driven the growth of large data centers, the massive server farms that run many of todays Internet and business applications. The massive amounts of computation power required to drive these systems results in many challenging and interesting distributed systems and resource management problems. In this thesis I investigate challenges related to data centers, with a particular emphasis on how new virtualization technologies can be used to simplify deployment, improve resource efficiency. A central problem in utility computing is managing the resources to support the varying demand for these applications. We propose a genetic algorithm to find the optimal allocation of virtual environments in a multi-tier distributed data center. We consider that this allocation problem is NP-hard, so we focus on approximate solutions including a genetic algorithm that appears to perform well in finding an approximate solution.
