CONGESTION MANAGEMENT IN DEREGULATION BY GENERATION RESCHEDULING AND LOAD SHEDDING USING EVOLUTIONARY PROGRAMMING BASED OPF
Congestion management is one of the most important issues for secure and reliable system operations in deregulated electricity market. In this paper, an efficient method is proposed for transmission line over load alleviation in deregulated power system using generation rescheduling and load shedding. The proposed method is illustrated using IEEE 300 bus system and the impacts of considering different parameters such as generation rescheduling and load shedding are studied. In this paper an attempt is made to explore the use of generation rescheduling and load shedding for relieving congestion by Evolutionary Programming compared with Improved Quadratic interior point (IQIP) method based an Optimal Power Flow (OPF). The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm has been analyzed on IEEE 300 bus system.
