A DYNAMIC STOPPING CRITERION IN TURBO DECODING FOR DEEP SPACE COMMUNICATION

This paper proposes a dynamic stopping criterion in Turbo decoding for unpredictability of Deep Space Communication(DSC).This criterion can stop iterating dynamically according to channel condition. The simulation results show that applying the improved criterion to DSC can reduce the average iterations effectively as well as keep the decoding performance, moreover it requires no extra storage and lower power consumptions, thus suitable for particular environment such as DSC.
