ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND ECONOMIC GROWTH RELATIONSHIP IN CHINA
This paper uses the panel data of energy consumption (EC) and economic growth(GDP) for China from 1980 to 2008.The results show that there is a positive longrun cointegrated relationship between real GDP per capita and energy consumption variables, a 1 % increase in GDP per capita leads to a 0.44-0.48% increase in energy consumption in the long term.So it is urgent to explore new and important ways to change the current economic growth pattern, develop lowcarbon economy and circular economy actively.
