THE EFFECT OF MO ON SFE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF HIGH MN FE-33MN-3SI-2AL STEEL
Stacking Fault Energy (SFE) is a paramount factor in transformation and mechanical properties of steels specifically in twin induced plasticity (TWIP) steels in which twinning is the governing mechanism of deformation.Among the effective parameters on SFE, alloying elements have more pronounced contribution.In the present research, the effect of Mo addition to SFE of austenite phase in high Mn TWIP steel is investigated.To this aim, mechanical properties and various formed phases in the steel were examined after casting, hot rolling and annealing of samples.It was found that addition of Mo more than 0.3% to the chemical composition, results to decreasing the SFE of steel and changing of deformation mechanism from twinning to transformation induced plasticity (TRIP).
