Piezoelectric-Stack Pump for Micro-Reagents Dispense

Microscale, fast, precise micro-reagents dispense is the key technology indispensable in life science, chemical experiments and other fields. A piezoelectric-stack pump prototype was developed to implement high-precision, microscale and automated reagents dispense. The structure, working process and assembly process ot the piezoelectric-stack pump were studied. Experiments were conducted to investigate the impact of the input signal on the performance of the piezoelectric-stack pump and the relation-ship between the output flow rate and pressure, and the input power and frequency. Reagent pump was fabricated by installing nozzle on the prototype, and then the relationship between the output characteristics of the reagent pump and the volume of the micro-droplet was studied. The repeating precision of the output flow is 77.42uL-The volume and repeating precision for reagents dispense are 16.09(11. and 0.29uL respectively when the diameter of the nozzle is 0.5 mm.
