Modeling Analysis and Simulation Research for a Flexible Vehicle Arresting System
a flexible vehicle arresting system (FVAS) is presented in this paper. The FVAS enables vehicle to stop without damages to the vehicle and vehiclemounted personnel. The analysis completes about kinematical equations for each link both in on-and off-center arresting processes, kinematics model for the FVAS, building the simulation model of the FVAS in MATLAB/SIMULINK and making a description for systematic behaviors after running the model. Further more, this paper evaluates the correctness and validity of the ever-built model by means of comparing data from testing on real vehicle on-center hitting against the FVAS with those from simulation, and then it provides some valuable advice for further research on the FVAS.
