Study Statistical Properties of Raman Cross-talk with Walkoff in Fiber Communication Systems
A new model of Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) with workoff is presented. It is applicable in the cases of random binary modulation input power, arbitrary channel number and dispersion coefficient and arbitrary transmission distance. By the model, SRS degradation in the pulse walkoff regime and statistical properties of Raman Crosstalk for a twochannel system are studied. The probability density function (pdf) of output power in the presence of SRS and walkoff approximates to Gaussian distribution. The formulae of mean and standard deviation of output power are derived for the system. The results from the formulae are in good agreement with numerical simulation.
