Fingerprint Minutia Extraction Algorithm Based on DSP

摘要：

This paper presents a new fingerprint minutia extraction alRorithm based on DSP．The traditional fingerprint recoRnition algorithm requires a lot of time to do the binarization and thinning for fingerprint image．Different from 仃aditional fingerprint minutiae extraction algorithm，the proposed algorithm makes some improvements based on Direct Minntia Extraction algorithm．It improves the accuracy and anti-interference ability of minutia extraction．First,the algorithm is divided into the fingerprint image pre-processing stare and the minutia extraction stage．In the image preprocessing stage，a lot of mtering and enhancement will be done to facilitate the extraetion of minutia．In the minutia extraction stage，ridge Hne tracing algorithm iS used to analyze and extract each minutia on every ridge line．It is confirmed through experiment that our algorithm is apparently faster than the traditional ones．
