A Simple Heuristic for the Lost-Sales Periodic Review Inventory Systems

Periodic review inventory systems are widely used in practice, especially when many items are purchased from the supplier. In this case, the supply lead time is usually shorter than the period length. In this research, we propose a simple heuristic for such periodic review systems with lost sales.
