A Case Study of an RFID-based Management System for Ready-made Garment Production Lines
In this study, the authors describe the design and implementation of a radio-frequency identification (RFID)-based management system for ready-made garment production lines. The system is designed to monitor not only the efficiency of each employee working in the production lines but also the performance of the whole production lines. By integrating the RFID, Internet, and database technology into the production management system, this study illustrates the cost benefits and flexibility of the designed system in the ready-made garment industry. The further managerial implication for academic researchers and practitioners are discussed in this study. Finally, the authors address the limitation of this study and future development for RFID-base management system in the ready-made garment industry.
