Wideband printed Yagi antenna for wireless communication applications
A novel wideband printed Yagi antenna design using an integrated balun technique is presented. The proposed antenna shows broadband performance of the -10 dB return loss bandwidth up to 60% from 12 to 4.1 GHz, covering the 2.45 GHz wireless local area network (WLAN) (2/4-2.48 GHz) and the 2.5/3.5 GHz worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX) (2.52.69 GHz/3.4-3.69 GHz) bands. Meanwhile, the peak gain in the operating band yields 7.6 dB. A prototype has been fabricated and tested, and the experimental results validate the design procedure.
