The Design of Multi-band Reconfigurable CMOS Gm-C Filter

A continuous-time 5th order low-pass reconfigurable, highly linear, Gm-C filter exhibiting a tuning wide bandwidth is presented. The filter uses a new highfrequency, linear operational transconductance amplifier. The operational transconductance amplifier is based on two cross-coupling pairs with active source degeneration resistance that allows high linear, high frequency filter performance. A 5th order filter prototype has been fabricated in 0.18um CMOS process and the active area occupies less than 0.2mm. Simulated results show the filter is tunable in frequency from about 150KHz to 23MHz, and it exhibits < -40dB total harmonic distortion at 150KHz ~ 23MHz while the DC maximum power consumes 10.8mW.
