Review of Climate Change in the Arctic
Dramatic changes in Arctic climate have been noted during the past century. Increasing oceanic temperature, ice melting and ocean freshening not only affect the Arctic but also become a global Environment Problem. We review the change of atmospheric climate, the retreat of sea ice, the freshwater loss and discuss the mechanisms that contributed to these changes. Then we analyze the interaction between the Arctic and the North Pacific and the interaction between the Arctic and the Atlantic. Finally we summarize the role that the climate change in the Arctic played in the global climate change.
