The Application Prospect Analysis of Superconducting HGMS Technology in Converter Dedusting Water Treatment
Flocculation is the conventional treatment of converter dedusting water. It is easy to operate but the cost is high because flocculants are needed. The magnetic separation has been applied in many steel factories. It accelerates and enhances the separation of pollutants but the cost is also high because of the consumption of electricity and flocculants. Compared with other methods, the superconducting high gradient magnetic separation (HGMS), as a new sewage treatment technology, has many advantages, such as small floor space, high efficiency, low operation cost, and energy-saving, and so on. In this paper, the treatment process and progress specified to converter dedusting water quality are analyzed and discussed. It is proposed that the superconducting HGMS should have very bright prospect of large-scale industrial application in converter dedusting water treatment.
