The Methods of Improving Indoor Air Quality
Indoor air quality (IAQ) of residential building is closely related to human health. By measurements of formaldehyde. benzene, ammonia, total volatile organic compounds (TVOCS) and radon in new decorated residential building in Hangzhou, we found 53.3% sampleds of TVOCS, 50% samples of formaldehyde, , 16.7% samples of ammonia exceed of Chinas national standard for indoor air environmental pollution) respectively. The methods of improving IAQ are discussed in this thesis. The main study is on degradation and absorption of formaldehyde using nanometer TiO2 photocatalyst and parts of interior landscape plants. Anatase phase TiO2 photocatalyst supported on fiberglass cloth was prepared by using sol-gel method. The experiments of formaldehyde photocatalytic degradation were conducted with nanometer TiO2 photocatalyst prepared at temperature of 400 ℃,450 ℃,500℃ respectively. The result indicates that TiO2 photocatalyst prepared at 450 ℃ has the best photocatalytic activity. The experiments result of formaldehyde absorption with seven kinds of interior landscape plants shows that improving IAQ with interior landscape plants is effective.
