Extreme Value Modeling of Hydrological floods: A Case study
There are many engineering areas where the extreme value theory play* a decisive role. Every engineer knows that design values are a compromise between the critical capacity of engineering elements and their associated extreme operating conditions. Assessment of design values therefore depends on accurate modeling of the probability distribution of the largest height together with its joint occurrence with critical periods. In this paper, the data obtained from a survey station are analyzed to determine the distribution. It is shown that the Bayesian computation is made of the predictive distribution of the design values likely to be incurred.
