The effect of firm specifications on survival of new small and medium enterprises in Iran
The aim of this paper is to investigate the effect of firm specifications on survival of small and medium enterprises in Iran through 1981-2006. So the effect of four variables including initial size, initial capital, ownership status and technology level, are investigated on firms survival using the Industry & Mine Ministry database. The results of this study show the positive relationship between initial size and survival; also there was a meaningful relationship between technology level of firms and their survival. But there werent meaningful relations between initial capital and ownership status with the firms survival.
