Attitudes of Chinese consumers towards foreign and domestic films
With the growth of Chinese economy, the filming industry has become an increasingly important business to entertain consumers. To further develop this industry, it is necessary to understand Chinese consumers in their choice of films. For this purpose, this research aims to examine the perceptions of Chinese consumers towards foreign and domestic films. Based on a sample of 201 survey responses, this research finds that films have been used as an important means of leisure for Chinese consumers, and foreign products are more preferred than domestic products. The attribute that gives foreign films competitive advantage is mainly the post-production by virtue of high technology.
