Employee Motivation and Satisfaction in NIGER: an Application of the Job Characteristics Model
The study examined the role of job dimension in determining the motivating potential score of the employees and compared the motivation of different sectors in Niger and also compared Niger employees motivation and other place employees motivation level. A sample of 120 employees of 3 sectors in Niger was surveyed using the job diagnostic survey and the scores were compared with the normative data established by Oldham, Hackman and Stepina using nine job families. The study revealed that the job dimensions highly influenced the motivating potential score. The study also revealed the presence of significant differences between the sectors and between Niger companies and Oldham, Hackman and Stepina normative data.
