The Analysis of Employment Effects of Foreign Direct Investment
With the developing of Chinas reform policy, Chinas economy is integrating into the world. As a result, more and more foreign capitals are flowing into China. Since 1990, FDI mainly concentrated in the Yangtze River Delta region, and Shanghai has strong economic strength, abundant human resources and convenient transportation network, which are the excellent conditions in attracting foreign investment, so Shanghai becomes one of the major cities in attracting FDI. FDI has tremendous impacts on many aspects in Shanghai, employment is one of them. Therefore, this paper chooses Shanghai as the research object Firstly, it theoretical analyzes the employment effects of FDI; Secondly, combining the actual utilization of FDI and employment in Shanghai, it empirical analyzes the effects of FDI on employments quantity、 employments distribution and employments quality by collecting relevant data and establishing regression models; Lastly, this study finds that FDI does exist a positive influence on employments quantity in Shanghai, and is beneficial to increase employment in the tertiary industry in Shanghai, but is not conducive to the first and second industry; In addition, FDI has shown positive and negative double impacts on employments quality. Last some suggestions will be proposed to enhance the positive role of FDI on the employment。
