Research on Local Government Debt in China
In order to promote economic development, local government ran into debt by themselves. For promoting the rational utilization of local government debt, this paper surveyed current status of local government debt in China. Empirical analysis approach and data analysis method were used. Through the analysis of related data, there are institutional and non-institutional reasons for the growth of local government debt. Based on the positive and negative effects of local government debt on public economic performance, the paper puts forward effective measures for local government debt management, so that the local government debt can play positive role in local economic development.
