A New Algebraic Method to 2D Afl>ne Shape Registration
In this paper, 2D shape registration problem with affine deformations was studied. First, the registration problem was modeled as an least square problem on Lie group GL(2, R) by combining with the traditional iterative closest point (1CP) method. Then, by Iwasawa decomposition, some reasonable constraints were introduced, which avoid the cases of degenerate. Furthermore, a series of quadratic programming were used to approximate the proposed model and a novel affine registration algorithm was designed. At last, several illustration and comparison experiments were presented to demonstrate the performance and efficiency of the proposed algorithm. Particularly, a way of selecting a good initial registration based on ICA method to achieve the global minimum was suggested.
