Control Algorithms of Smoothing Power Fluctuations in a Wind Farm with Storage Battery System
A universal conceptual description for the smoothing control of wind power fluctuation is described in this paper. If the rated power and storage capacity of the energy storage system are determined, based on the characteristics of curve of wind power and smoothing of wind power fluctuation, a new smoothing control scheme for power fluctuations is obtained. The algorithms can achieve the control of the variable time constant and battery energy storage state during smoothing wind power fluctuations, and can both improve the utilization of storage capacity of the energy storage system and mitigate the change rate of synthesis output fluctuations to some degree inherently.
