Research on Satellite Channel Performance based on Parameter optimization of TCP/IP protocol

This paper proposed the parameter optimization based TCP/IP protocol to improve TCP/IP transmission performance in the satellite networks. According to the disadvantages of the satellite networks, the deterioration of long delay and high bit error rates of satellite channels should be significantly analyzed. Especially for the broadband services which require high real-time quality characteristics, the transmission quality of TCP/IP protocol can not be effectively guaranteed. Therefore, to solve this problem, the performance selective fading of satellite channel due to TCP/IPs various packet sizes is proposed based on the laboratory measurements and simulations. Furthermore, much attention has also been paid to the optimization of TCP/IP transmission parameters by different QoS requirements without changing the original mechanism of TCP/IP protocol.
