An improved Particle Swarm Optimization for the sensor deployment in Wireless Sensor Networks
Coverage which is one of the key topics reflects the quality- of network monitoring and target tracking. In this paper, we introduce a parameter which means that the portion of interested area is bole area. Although some sensor sets can achieve complete coverage and is small, they may result in increasing too much deployment cost. We formulate the problem as a 0/1 integer-programming problem to find the minimum deployment cost under the condition of meet the demand of the parameter. The aim of this paper is to find the best set of sensors which can cover the (1- ) portion of the interested area and its cost is lower. In the paper, we adopt an improved PSO to complete the optimization. Simulation results demonstrate that the number of working nodes and the network redundancy are reduced and implement sensor deployment efficiently and rapidly.l
