The Anaylsis of Energy Efficient for Clustering Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Network

Energy conservation is one of the most critical problems in wireless sensor networks. It is very important to design a fast algorithm to organize sensors into clusters to minimize the energy consumed to aggregate data from all nodes to the sink. Many data aggregation algorithms, especially clusteringbased, are suggested to reduce the nodes energy consumptions in recent years. In this paper, we focus on the issue that how to optimize the clusteringbased algorithm according to energy efficient principle. The energy model used in the communication process is given. The total energy consumption both in the single-level cluster algorithm and in the multi-level ones are compared. The optimal number of cluster heads and the expected number of cluster levels, which can influence the energy efficient performance of WSN, is analyzed theoretically The simulation results show that the appropriate number of clusters used in single-level or multi -level clustering algorithm can reduce the total energy consumption for data collection.
