A Symmetric Encryption Authentication-based Lightweight Agent Secure Communication Model

safety communication is one of the most important areas in the implementation of multi-agent systems. The traditional secure communication models use standard cryptographic techniques like public key cryptography, or digital signatures to authenticate authorities and solve the problem of protecting the host against malicious agents. Although the above methods are secure and effective enough, they are not cost-effective and lightweight. This paper uses the symmetric-key encryption, hash function and challenge-response mechanism to implement the secure communication. Before the agents communicate or interact, they must authenticate, hence, the agents hold their secret keys, always the passwords, which are only known to the users and the server. We use the NDIS-hooking technique to implement the authenticates module. As long as the passwords can be protected, such model is secure, but more costeffective, flexible and scalable.
